Welcome to a birth experience as extraordinary as you are.

Our luxurious freestanding birth center serves families in Roanoke, Virginia and surrounding areas

We want to awaken you to the current reality.

  • Our culture fears childbirth and thinks it is dangerous and risky.

  • Care providers have written many birth stories their way.

When a provider makes decisions about your pregnancy and birth in fear, they end up controlling with intervention while simultaneously removing your power, silencing your voice, minimizing your value, and can even take away your ability to naturally give birth.

We want to awaken you to our reality.

  • We do not fear childbirth, We honor it, respect it, and approach it as a normal life process.

  • Our providers want to join you in writing your unique birth story, dictated and controlled by your own preferences and choices.

We believe in your innate ability to give birth, we promote your power, elevate your voice, maximize your worth, and safely guide and support you towards the birth you’ve always dreamed of.

Where birth is respected, supported, and empowered.

We believe birth is a sacred and powerful experience—not a medical event or something to be feared. Whether you envision a peaceful water birth, an empowering natural labor, or a family-centered experience with a midwife you trust, we’re here to honor your vision and support your choices.

Creating a birth environment where you feel safe isn't a luxury—it's a biological necessity for efficient labor.

Better births

32% of pregnant women who give birth in a hospital have a c-section.

6% of pregnant women receiving care in a birth center have a c-section.

…plus birth center clients experience less perineal tearing, increased breastfeeding success rates, less birth trauma, and a lower risk of postpartum depression.

Comparison chart of birth center and hospital birth practices. Birth center: midwifery model, home-like setting, natural birth focus, low intervention, freedom of movement. Hospital: medical model, institutional environment, technology use, more inductions and C-sections, more restrictions.

What if you could have the time, support, and value you long for without compromising on safety?

We use technology and medications when indicated, not as routine. This selective approach isn't rejection of modern medicine; it's precision care that recognizes both the benefits and the risks of medical intervention. Our goal is optimizing the birth process through supporting what's working while intervening only when necessary—an approach that research shows improves outcomes by reducing unnecessary intervention while maintaining safety.

An experience you’ll treasure for the rest of your life.

Imagine: It’s nighttime, and your body begins to stir with the first gentle waves of labor. You’re not afraid—you’re prepared. You’ve been waiting for this, trusting in the process, knowing that your body was made for this moment. You move through the sensations, breathing deeply, supported by hands that encourage, voices that uplift, and a space that surrounds you with peace. There are no harsh lights, no rushing, no pressure—just the quiet unfolding of one of life’s most sacred moments.

Fully supportive care

With experienced providers you can trust.

At Genesis, you will be seen by the same midwife every visit including your birth. You will walk into a space where you are known and where your midwife sits with you, not just for a few rushed minutes, but for as long as you need. She will listen—not just to your baby’s heartbeat, but to your worries, your hopes, your dreams for this birth. She will remind you that you are not a patient. You are a mother, powerful and capable, and birth is not something that happens to you—it is something you do.

Your midwife walks alongside you, offering not just safety and expertise, but deep, compassionate care. From the first heartbeat to the first breath, she trusts in your body’s design, knowing that birth is not a condition to be treated, but a journey to be honored. She will stand with you through every wave of labor, not as distant observer, but as fierce advocate—holding space, providing comfort, and believing in you when you need it most.

Our Amenities

Lactation support

Breastfeeding can be challenging sometimes. Just because it’s natural doesn’t mean it’s easy. Our lactation consultant can help with common problems such as a painful/difficult latch, low or high milk production, assess for tongue and lip ties, and treat nipple pain and clogged ducts.

Chiropractic care

Chiropractic care promotes optimal health in pregnancy by helping the hips and pelvis to be in alignment so baby is in the best position possible for labor and birth. Research shows that chiropractic adjustments at the end of pregnancy can lead to a smoother and quicker labor.

Prenatal massage

Massage during pregnancy helps alleviate muscle tension, encourages relaxation, and reduces feelings of stress. As the body changes, weight gain and shifting posture can cause muscle tension and joint discomfort. Massage relieves tension in areas like the lower back, hips, and legs.

Ultrasound

We believe that ultrasound is not only a medical procedure but an experience and chance to see and bond with your baby. We are able to provide first trimester and fetal anatomy ultrasounds in-house, as well as follow up ultrasounds as needed throughout pregnancy.

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy

Pain during pregnancy can be alleviated with the help of some physical therapy, and postpartum pelvic PT addresses pelvic floor dysfunction by treating muscle tightness, weakness, bladder or uterine prolapse, scar tissue restrictions, and nerve-related pain.

Mental Healthcare

Our licensed mental health counselor provides compassionate, specialized support for individuals navigating the emotional and psychological challenges that can arise after childbirth. This care addresses a range of experiences, including postpartum depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and emotional adjustment. Through therapy, counseling, support groups, and—in some cases—medication management, postpartum mental healthcare helps parents process their birth experience, adjust to their new role, and strengthen their emotional well-being. The goal is to ensure every parent feels seen, supported, and empowered during this tender and transformative time.

Our birth resort amenities prepare you for a healthier pregnancy, a smoother (and often faster) more empowered labor and birth, and a better postpartum recovery.

Not to mention the convenience of all your providers under one roof.
